MacDermid to Showcase Market First Innovations at INFO*FLEX 2017
-- Award Winning and Industry Leading Technology for the Flexographic Industry --
Atlanta, Georgia, USA – April 12, 2017: MacDermid Graphics Solutions announced today that it will demonstrate its commitment to industry leading technology by showcasing the latest LUX® In-The-Plate and M System product line additions, and the LAVA NW thermal plate processing system at FTA’s INFO*FLEX (booth 501) in Phoenix, AZ from May 1 – 2.
LAVA Thermal Platemaking Equipment
LAVA NW is specifically suited for the tag and label industry. This thermal processing system is an ideal solution for the narrow web market due to its smaller footprint and rapid processing times. The LAVA NW showcases MacDermid’s continued commitment to continuous innovation with its thermal program
LUX® In-The-Plate™ Technology Platform
Achieving LUX-like performance and characteristics without adding steps to the platemaking workflow has been a reality since the introduction of LUX® ITP™ 60 in the spring on 2014, the first ever plate of its kind Recognized by the FTA in 2016 with the Technical Innovation Award, the LUX® ITP™ Technology Platform is an ever-evolving, game- changing technology designed to change the face of flexographic printing. The latest additions will be LUX® ITP™ M and LUX® ITP™ C.
LUX® ITP™ M is a medium durometer plate that provides all the benefits of LUX® ITP 60, but in a lower durometer. ITP™ M is specifically designed for paper stock, preprinted liner board and other applications where a combination of high durability and excellent ink laydown is required. This plate features our latest clean print technology and can be used along with the LAVA NW platemaking equipment to fully optimize your workflow. ITP™ M is currently in late stage field testing, being used by a small group of leading converters. Commercial release is expected June 1, 2017.
LUX® ITP™ C is MacDermid’s capped ITP™ platemaking option, providing a balance of low print gain and smooth solid ink coverage. MacDermid has the industry’s longest history with capped plate development and use. LUX® ITP™ C builds upon the 20 years of successful package printing made possible by EPIC, Digital EPIC, and Digital MCH. ITP™ C is in late stage development, with commercial release expected in Q3.
Digital MAF is the latest in a series of product introductions from MacDermid that leverage the company’s expertise in dot shape engineering. This unique expertise in flat-top dots allows MacDermid to optimize each plate’s dot shape to match the print application. In this instance, the Digital MAF dot shape is designed to minimize the variations in dot compression that arise from the valley and peaks of the fluted corrugated board structure. Digital MAF is the first in a platform of engineered dot solutions for the corrugated market, with a targeted solution in the works for use on boards with heavy recycle content or thinner liners.
MRC is the newest liquid photopolymer from MacDermid’s M System
product family. MRC is a 32 durometer (Shore A) resin designed specifically to provide thick photopolymer printing plates for the corrugated market with the built-in flexibility of processing either with or without an additional light finishing step. The plate has excellent durability with UV stability and is extremely low tack for clean performance on press. MRC has wide imaging latitude and is well suited for in-position plate making.
LTS is a new liquid photopolymer from MacDermid’s M System product family that builds upon the industry-leading LTL technology. LTS is a 25 durometer (Shore A) resin optimized for corrugated printing; specifically, LTS is ideal for printing on recycled board or board with a thinner liner. LTS resin has tack- free properties for excellent solids coverage, high resilience for lint-free printing and easy clean-up on press.
M Strate AB the latest liquid photopolymer substrate from MacDermid’s M System product family. M Strate AB is designed to help reduce the labor necessary to add double sided mounting tape to the back of finished corrugated printing plates. This integrated package allows for quick trimming and mounting of corrugated plates to the carrier sheet.
