Focus Label’s ‘Innovation and Technology’ Open Day Draws Visitors from all over UK
With the title of ‘Innovation and Technology’ and the drive behind the day of ‘Flexibility’ in production, Focus had an abundance of skills on offer to show both existing customers and those new to the UK narrow web press, ancillary and finishing equipment manufacturer.
Networking also contributed hugely to the day and Focus partners from Rotometrics, TOYO ink, Cheshire Anilox, Meech International, Industrial Inkjet and MATHO all attended and supported the Open Day spending individual and collective time with the attendees discussing various topics.
Customers from all over the UK came along and were treated to a factory tour of all the manufacturing facilities and demonstrations in the showroom on the company’s products including the D-Flex Digital Hybrid and E-Flex Servo driven presses alongside the latest Inspection Rewind System which were very well received.
The D-Flex Hybrid press combines Ink Jet technology with a number of flexographic print configurations. This model is ideal for small/medium volume orders, very short runs, just-in-time printing, multiple up’s, frequently changed designs and some degree of variability, versioning, repeat jobs or even just batch numbering on press all feasible with costs-per-copy that end customers will accept whilst handling variable data and images with ease giving opportunity to open up the portfolio of products the business can offer.
Key features include Mono & 4 colour options plus optional white (either via inkjet or flexo) choice of web widths, UV drying systems and single colour rotary flexo head for pre–coating, printing and over varnish, plus in line converting and finishing systems.
The E-Flex can also incorporate inkjet heads and is a fully servo driven press that can be built in many different configurations and several web widths making this a modern flexible production tool for today’s flexo print business.
After this all were invited to take lunch in the company’s boardroom/conference suite for a bite to eat and more chance to network and discuss what they had all viewed.
Due to the success of this Open Day, Focus are planning to hold further days like this with the next one due mid-October after Label Expo.
The 35 year old company also produce Textile and Screen Label printing machines, which is where their journey began, and operate worldwide exporting some 75% of their products overall.
