Techkon SpectroDENS Flex for Precise Print Color Measurement on Flexible Films
Danvers, MA, Sep 14, 2016 – Techkon USA, the innovation leader in densitometers, spectrophotometers, and software solutions for the global print and packaging communities, announced today the availability of SpectroDENS Flex for precise color measurement on flexible films used in packaging and label applications.
Flexible films made with an extrusion process can develop a grain or anisotropy that affect color measurement. While the grain is not very apparent to the eye, color measurements can often depend on the orientation of the measurement instrument relative to the extrusion direction or grain. The new SpectroDENS Flex features a design modification to resolve this influence of film anisotropy and thereby provide accurate and consistent color measurements regardless of the instrument orientation.

The new device is fully compatible with ISO M0, M1, & M2 measurement modes. Measurement results on non-flexible film materials are consistent with the standard SpectroDENS product.
